ABC/ Paula LoboSia has contributed a sexy new song to The Get Down — Part II soundtrack.
In a new clip from the Netflix series, released Wednesday, the disco-tinged track — called “Toy Box” — is performed by the character Mylene Cruz, played by Herizen Guardiola. She’s looking to make her mark as a solo artist and takes a gig at a New York nightclub.
Mylene delivers a steamy performance of “Toy Box,” but at the end of the clip she realizes — to her horror — that her father, played by Giancarlo Esposito, is in the audience.
This is the second track on which Sia has worked for the show. Part I of the series featured the song “Telepathy,” which she co-wrote with Stargate. It was performed by Christina Aguilera.
Part II of the Baz Luhrmann series premieres on Netflix Friday, April 7. It picks up in 1978, one year after the events of Part I. The show revolves around a group of young aspiring musicians in the Bronx right around the dawn of hip-hop.
