Columbia RecordsWhat do you get when you mix Calvin Harris with Ariana Grande, Pharrell Williams and Young Thug? A funky, throwback jam called “Heatstroke,” which has just arrived.
Harris co-wrote the song with Pharrell and Young Thug, among others, and plays eight instruments on it. He also produced and arranged the record.
“Please, let go and have a good time,” sings Pharrell on the hook, followed by Ariana crooning, “When you do things like this/and you set me free/how can anyone get tired?/When you do things like this/and you set me free/I think I just been inspired.”
“Heatstroke” follows “Slide,” which Calvin released five weeks ago. That track features Frank Ocean and Migos. It’s not clear whether or not the tracks will appear on an upcoming album.
Last year, Calvin scored a huge hit with “This Is What You Came For,” co-written by his then-girlfriend, Taylor Swift, and featuring vocals by Rihanna.
