How We Met
My fiancé, George and I met in 2012 the way all modern couples do – through a dating app! We were just two young college kids, and in November of 2012, George and I started chatting and within a few weeks, we had our first date at the Starbucks across from Sonoma State University. George swears I was late by 15 minutes – as I am late for literally everything – but I think he’s exaggerating a bit. Thankfully, he stuck around and our first date went amazingly.
During the next few weeks, we went on a few more dates, hung out at each other’s dorms, and by the end of December (the 28th, to be exact), we decided to make it official.
Over the years, George and I moved in with each other, both graduated college, and went through highs and lows. We’ve been the best concert buddies in the world, got tattoos on the same day (his first, and my 5th at the time), and watched countless horror movies (that I made him watch against his will). At the core of it all was the gratefulness to have someone in my life who just matched me.
In November of 2016, I knew that there wasn’t another person who I wanted to make even more memories with and see where life takes us. I popped the question on November 12th, 2016, and it was one of the most nerve-wracking and equally amazing days ever. Our family and friends were there, we enjoyed delicious wine, and oh yeah, he said YES!
We decided to have a bit of a long engagement to save money, figure out what kind of wedding that we want, etc. And now, it’s TWO MONTHS AWAY!
