During an interview with U.K. journalist Piers Morgan for his TV show — transcribed in the U.K.’s Mail on Sunday, for which Morgan also works — Mel “nodded and smiled” when Morgan asked her point-blank if she and Geri had a sexual encounter.
“She’s going to hate me for this because she’s all posh in her country house and her husband. But it’s a fact. It just happened and we just giggled at it and that was it,” Mel added.
When Morgan asked her if their affair continued for a while and if they were in love, Mel responded, “We were best friends…It just happens one time, you talk about it and it doesn’t really happen again.”
Mel then confirmed it was “just once” — and also threw in the fact that Geri “had great boobs.”
“She’s going to kill me and so’s her husband. She’s not that posh now, is she?” Mel joked. “And hopefully when Geri gets asked that, which hopefully she will after this, she won’t deny it. Because it was just a fun thing.”
Asked if she had similar encounters with the other Spice Girls, Mel said, “Well, when I got my tongue pierced we all kissed. But that was just a kiss because I wanted to know what it felt like. It was just a silly kiss. Nothing sexual like that.”
The Spice Girls’ reunion tour gets underway this summer in the U.K.
