Kendrick Lamar scores the most Grammy nods; Drake, Brandi Carlile are on his heels

Image Group LA/ABCKendrick Lamar is this year’s leading Grammy nominee with eight nods, thanks to his work on the Black Panther soundtrack.  Among those eight nods, K.Dot scored Record, Song and Album of the Year nominations for the soundtrack, and the song “All the Stars.”

Drake received seven nods, including Album of the Year for Scorpion, and Record and Song of the Year for “God’s Plan.”  Singer/songwriter Brandi Carlile has scored six nods for her album By the Way, I Forgive You and her powerful single, “The Joke.”

Among the artists with five nods: Lady Gaga, Cardi B, rising R&B star H.E.R., Childish Gambino and Maren Morris, who is nominated both for her smash pop hit “The Middle” and her country song, “Dear Hate.”

The Grammy Awards will take place Sunday, Feb. 10, live from Los Angeles’ Staples Center, and will air on CBS from 8-11:30 p.m. ET/PT.
