BTS releases first concert film, “Burn the Stage: The Movie”

Big Hit Entertainment/Trafalgar ReleasingBTS is on the big screen.

The K-pop boy band phenomenon has released a concert film, Burn the Stage: The Movie, which is now available for viewing in over 70 countries across the globe.

The movie features an intimate look at the 2017 BTS Live Trilogy Episode III: The Wings Tour, which drew more than 550,000 fans across 40 concerts in 19 cities. It not only includes concert footage, but also a glimpse into the everyday lives of the seven band members: RM, JinSUGA, j-hopeJimin, V, and Jung Kook.

Pre-sales for the film had already topped 940,000 tickets. Check US.BurnTheStageTheMovie.com for theater locations.

For the uninitiated, BTS is an acronym of Bangtan Sonyeondan, which means “Bulletproof Boy Scouts” in Korean. In 2017, the band also announced the acronym could stand for “Beyond the Scene.”

In related news, the group’s management company, Big Hit Entertainment, has apologized for a recent string of controversies involving clothing worn by its members.  One member was photographed wearing a shirt that appeared to celebrate the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, while another member was seen wearing a hat with a Nazi symbol.

Big Hit  Entertainment posted a statement on Facebook saying it doesn’t condone the use of atomic weapons, totalitarian beliefs or Nazism. It also asks fans to blame them, and not BTS, for not “providing the necessary and careful support to our artist that may have prevented these issues.”

The statement added, “We would like to again offer our sincerest apologies to anyone who has suffered pain, distress and discomfort due to our shortcomings.”
