Mert & MarcusUnlike some of Taylor Swift’s previous relationships with celebrities, she’s managed to keep her current one with British actor Joe Alwyn on the down low — the very down low. She’s never spoken publicly about him at all, in fact. But Joe has now given his first comment on the relationship, though it’s not much.
Speaking in the October issue of British Vogue, Joe — who’s starring in the new movie The Favourite — says of his and Taylor’s romance, “I’m aware people want to know about that side of things. I think we have been successfully very private and that has now sunk in for people.”
He adds, “But I really prefer to talk about work.”
News of Joe and Taylor’s relationship broke in May of 2017 but they were reportedly dating a few months prior to that. Since then, he’s attended a number of her concerts, and they’ve been photographed together on vacation in Turks and Caicos, and holding hands in London.
Joe reportedly inspired a number of the songs on Taylor’s album, Reputation, but since she hasn’t done any interviews to promote the disc, we don’t know for sure.
