Demi Lovato has reportedly left her rehab facility in Los Angeles to receive specialized care in Chicago.
According to E! News, the singer has flown to Chicago on her doctors’ recommendation to meet with a therapist who specializes in sobriety, mental health, and overall wellness.
Demi was temporarily discharged from rehab on Thursday and arrived in Chicago early Friday morning. She’ll be there for the next several days before heading back to rehab.
Just over two weeks ago, Demi was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. after a drug overdose. She remained in the hospital for a week before leaving to seek treatment for her addiction.
Earlier this week, it was announced that she’d be cancelling the rest of her fall tour dates to focus on her recovery.
Demi posted a statement to her Instagram page last weekend, saying in part, “I now need time to heal and focus on my sobriety and road to recovery. The love you have all shown me will never be forgotten and I look forward to the day where I can say I came out on the other side. I will keep fighting.”
