Cat's out of the bag: Ed Sheeran wax figure unveiled at London cat cafe

ABC/Paula LoboBeing that Ed Sheeran is a known cat person, this news seems only fitting.

Madame Tussauds has unveiled an Ed Sheeran wax figure at London’s first cat café. The statue depicts Ed in a blue and black plaid shirt while strumming a guitar. His sleeves are rolled up, showing off exact replicas of his tattoos.

Ed’s likeness will be on display at Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium in east London before it’s transported to Madame Tussauds London next week. It will be on view there starting June 19.

“We’ve been getting requests for a long time, literally one a week, saying, ‘When are you going to add Ed?’” Claire Treacy of Madam Tussauds London tells U.K.’s Metro. “So we thought the best time to do it would be when he’s on his mammoth tour and he’s coming to Wembley so this felt like the perfect week.”

She adds, “We have been building a giant guitar, a replica of Ed’s own that will stand alongside him, and guests can play it and then his tunes will start playing out in the space.”

An Ed wax figure was previously unveiled at Madame Tussauds in New York in 2015.
