Cardi B‘s debut album invaded a lot of headphones in its first week of release, as it debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
The rapper’s Invasion of Privacy moved 255,000 equivalent album units, with traditional album sales making up 103,000 of that total.
With 135,000 of that number coming in the form of streaming equivalent album units, or roughly 202.6 million streams, Invasion of Privacy sets the record for the largest on-demand audio streaming week ever for an album by a woman, topping Beyonce‘s Lemonade.
Cardi B’s disc also sets the record for the biggest streaming week for a debut album by any artist, male or female. And she’s just the fifth female rapper ever to top the Billboard 200 chart.
Elsewhere in the top ten, rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars debuts at number two with their new album, America. Meanwhile, The Weeknd drops from #1 to #3 on the latest tally with My Dear Melancholy, and rapper Lil Xan lands at number 10 with his debut album, Total Xanarchy.
