Harry Styles scores Gold in three months

Columbia RecordsHarry Styles‘ self-titled debut solo album came out in May, and it’s already been certified Gold for sales and equivalent streams of 500,000 copies, according to the Recording Industry Association of America.

That means the album sold slightly faster than his former band mate Zayn Malik‘s debut solo album. Mind of Mine, released in March of 2016, went Gold that July.

Harry’s album was part of a batch of albums and singles that the RIAA certified last month. Other albums that were certified Gold in August include DNCE‘s self-titled album and Logic‘s EverybodyThe Chainsmokers‘ debut Memories…Do Not Open went Platinum, as did Shawn MendesIlluminate.

When it comes to singles, Bruno Mars‘ “That’s What I Like” was just certified five-times Platinum for sales and equivalent streams of five million copies, while DJ Khaled‘s smash hits “I’m the One” and “Wild Thoughts” went three-times and two-times Platinum, respectively.

Meanwhile, Charlie Puth‘s “Attention” has gone Platinum, as has “Strip That Down” by Liam Payne, “Malibu” by Miley Cyrus and Shawn Mendes’ “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back.”

Finally, Camila Cabello has scored her first Gold single as a solo artist with “Crying in the Club.”
