Neon Trees dive into retro “Feel Good” video

Meredith TruaxFor their new video, Neon Trees found an oasis in the desert.

The clip for the upbeat tune, which has a retro feel with super-saturated colors, was shot on location at the Saguaro hotel in Palm Springs, California.  It features the band performing poolside, and dancing on the balconies of the hotel.  Lead singer Tyler Glenn is also seen floating in the pool on a raft.  The end of the clip features what appears to be same-sex couples frolicking poolside.

“Feel Good” is the band’s first new music in two years.  Tyler, who came out as gay in 2014, released a solo album in 2016 called Excommunication, which dealt with his split from the Mormon church.  The rest of the band are still Mormons, though, and on August 26, they’ll be teaming up with another band that has Mormon members — Imagine Dragons — for a special charity benefit.

The event, called LOVELOUD Fest, will take place on August 26 in Orem, Utah — Utah is Neon Trees’ home state — and will also feature Nick Petricca of Walk the Moon and Krewella.  The event will raise money for organizations that support LGBTQ youth.
